King Kong

King Kong is a giant monster, reminiscent of a prehistoric gorilla, that made his big screen debut in 1933.  Although certainly a monster, he is most popularly portrayed as a tragic antihero. Following the original film's universal critical praise, the franchise has gone on to garner multiple sequels, reboots, comic book and television show adapatations, video games, theme park attractions, and even a stage play. The character has also had multiple crossovers into the Godzilla franchise.
