Ultra Series

The Ultra Series is the collective name for all of the media produced by Tsuburaya Productions featuring Ultraman (ウルトラマン), his many brethren, and the myriad Ultra Monsters.  The series was created by Eiji Tsuburaya, the special effects mastermind behind the Godzilla franchise, and has gone on to become one of the most prominent tokusatsu superhero genre productions from Japan.  The series itself focuses mainly upon the Ultras, a race of bio-mechanical - almost God-like or angelic - cosmic protectors from the Land of Light, capable of navigating the multiverse in order to protect the innocent from the chaotic onslaught of evil that most often arrives in the form of a myriad of hostile monsters and aliens.
